I grew up in San Diego and was lucky enough to be brought up in a household that valued the ocean and the outdoors. I learned how to swim at a young age and started surfing when I was 11 and became immediately hooked. I had always been a compulsive doodler in class prior to learning how to surf but my drawings soon changed to revolve around the coast and surfing.
Most of my work focuses on the natural aspects of surfing and coastal environments. I was educated and worked professionally as an urban designer and I bring a technical and layered styler to a lot of my pieces which I feel show space and depth against a negative space. I try to also focus on showing how energy moves through water (this often involves throwing away many practice sketches). My new work will aim to contain new messages and concepts around the environment and natural world.
In 2012, I collaborated with author Sebastian Slovin to illustrate a full-length story book entitled, "The Adventures of Enu." The book is available for purchase on Amazon.
